The Bard men's soccer team celebrated its seniors on Saturday at Ferrari Field, falling 3-2 to Skidmore to close the season.
Prior to the game, the Raptors celebrated two players - captain
Nick Agugliaro and fifth-year senior
Nic Soucy - as well as its two long serving managers, Sarina Culaj and Michaela Siegel. Players from the team spoke to the commitment and contributions the four individuals made to the program as each was honored alongside friends and family.
Bard and Skidmore then played a closely-fought game, with the Raptors taking the lead in the 37th minute through
Ben Steketee, only for the Thoroughbreds to strike back only seconds later.
In the second half, the Raptors took the lead again when
Dylan Kotlowitz played a great ball into the box that was flicked over the goalkeeper by a header from
Logan Tondini for his third goal of the season.
Skidmore struck back with goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes, and despite a shot from
Reed Campbell off the crossbar, the visitors held on for the win.
The Raptors close the season with a 6-7-2 record, including a pair of ties against Liberty League opponents, the first time Bard has had a pair of results in league play since joining the conference in 2012.
