TROY, N.Y.. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute scored three goals in the space of less than three minutes early in the second half to break a scoreless tie and defeat Bard College, 3-0, on Saturday. It was the Liberty League opener for both teams.
The game was scoreless at halftime, but a hand ball in the box led to a penalty kick, and a foul in the box led to another to make it 2-0 in 49th minute. RPI scored a minute later as well.
Bard produced four shots on goal, and
Gavin Hersey made seven saves.
