POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team lost to Clarkson University, 2-1, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
Down 2-0 and down to 10 players due to a red card early in the second half, Bard cut the lead in half in the 70th minute. A long free kick was played from midfield into the box by
Jack Timoney, and after a battle of headers, the ball landed at the feet of
Calvin Moe, who beat the Clarkson keeper to the far post from close range.
The sides were made even in the 83rd minute when Clarkson drew a red card. Bard earned a corner with 18 seconds left, put 6-foot-5 keeper
Gavin Hersey in the box, and his header with four seconds left went over the bar.
Hersey finished with five saves.
Next up for Bard is Senior Day, vs. RIT on Oct. 22.
