POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team lost to Vassar College, 1-0, in a Liberty League game on Wednesday afternoon.

Gavin Hersey made six saves for Bard.

"Our team continues to make a lot of progress, and it's becoming clear to the teams in this league that we are a difficult team to break down," Bard coach TJ Kostecky said. "We play in one of the top Div. III conferences in the country.

"We defended with passion and conviction," Kostecky continued. "And we had tremendous enthusiasm from players on the field with great support from the players on the bench. I expect us to continue to improve, and once we put ourselves into position to finish our chances, perhaps we will make some noise."

Up next for Bard is a game at Hobart on Saturday.
