Baseball, track and field set to resume at Bard

Bard College announced new guidelines on Friday that will allow some Bard Athletics teams to participate in Liberty League competition this spring.

The Bard baseball team, and Bard men's and women's track and field teams will compete against Liberty League opponents, starting on Mar. 27, when the baseball team hosts Vassar College in a doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.

Bard's men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's tennis teams will not compete this spring. The 20-game baseball schedule can be found here. The track schedule will be announced at a later date.

Note that the Bard campus remains closed to unapproved visitors. In addition, the Liberty League has established that SPECTATORS ARE PROHIBITED at all Liberty League contests at every institution. This includes spectators in vehicles in parking lots, or in areas that surround athletic venues.

Bard's home baseball games will be streamed live at no cost; video streaming for away games is determined by the host institution. Live stats are available for every game, home and away. The live stats and live video links can be found on the baseball schedule page.

Health and safety protocols will be central to all off-campus trips for competition and will include no overnight travel. Student-athletes will be required to abide by Bard's and the Liberty League's masking, distancing and testing protocols, as will coaches, athletic training staff, event staff and game officials, whether the contests are home or away.
