The Bard College Department of Athletics and Recreation strives to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all. We understand that we have not always lived up to those ideals, and sincerely apologize to anyone who has felt hurt or unheard.
Â
We are recommitting to overcoming bias, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of bigotry, discrimination, and harassment, and breaking down any structures that enable such transgressions. We resolve to be more transparent, to increase and improve our communication with students, and to engage with and listen to everyone in our community.
Â
We are grateful to the Bard students, past and present, who have engaged with us on these important issues, and are eager to improve our Department's culture and the environment we create in Bard Athletics and Recreation. We look forward to working collaboratively on the shared goals of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusivity in Bard Athletics.
