TROY, N.Y. - Looking to rebound following a loss to RIT Saturday afternoon, the Bard College men's basketball team fell 89-49 to RPI Tuesday evening.

The Engineers got out to a hot start, as the home team scored the first 14 points of the game, including nine from guard Mitchel Wayand (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the first three minutes. Following a layup from freshman guard
Stefanos Psarras and a three pointer from sophomore forward
Stamatis Koulouris to get the Raptors on the board, RPI continued their offensive surge. They went on a 13-2 run to open up a commanding 29-7 lead seven minutes into the first half.

Bard then started to find their game midway through the half. Psarras and Koulouris again got on the board, providing all of the scoring in a 7-1 stretch to get the visitors back within 16 points with eight minutes remaining. However, the Engineers were again able to respond, scoring nine unanswered points to grow their lead back over 20, and despite two late baskets from freshman guard
Elliot Harris, the home team took a 48-24 advantage into the half.

Coming out of the break, Harris scored six early points for Bard, as the Raptors aimed to trim the RPI lead. But as they had done every other time the Raptors went on a run, the Engineers answered back. The home team scored seven unanswered points, pushing their lead up to 30 with six minutes gone in the second half. Bard was never able to get back in the game following their slow start, and RPI ran away with the game late to pick up the conference victory.

Harris led the Raptors with 18 points on the night and pulled down five rebounds, while Koulouris and freshman guard
Tyler Bruns both picked up 10 points. Psarras chipped in with eight points, six rebounds and two assists for Bard.

The Raptors are back in action Friday evening, as they continue their road trip with a visit to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. to face off with Skidmore College in conference play. Game time is scheduled for 7: 30 p.m.
