ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to St. Lawrence University, 90-40, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Saints were red hot to start the game, making 10 of their first 18 shots, including a pair of three-pointers, in building a 27-11 lead after one quarter. St. Lawrence shot the same percentage (56 percent) in the second quarter and had a 49-23 lead at halftime. The Saints had nine assists and six steals in the first half. St. Lawrence limited Bard to seven points in the third quarter and it was 71-30 through three.
Five players finished in double figures for St. Lawrence, led by Olivia Middleton (Barrington, RI), who had 15 points, three rebounds and six assists in 19 minutes. The Saints improved to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in Liberty League play.
Bard (5-7, 0-5) got 24 points, five rebounds and two blocks from
Christina Kiser.
Jess Rylander added six points, three rebounds and three assists.
