TROY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's track and field team enjoyed a strong performance at the Capital District Classic hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, with several athletes setting personal records.
Bethuel Yebouet again came close to breaking a pair of school records, running 23.90 in the 200m and 52.30 in the 400, earning fourth place of 21 competitors in the latter event.
Winston Cheney also competed in both events, setting a personal best in the 400.
In the 800, Bard's deepest event, freshman
Rowan Forsythe ran the best mark of his college career thus far, and behind him were four Bard runners who all set new PRs in the event: Azal Kassem,
Hongmin Ahn,
Henry Chang and Alex Henriquez. In the 4x400, Cheney ran an excellent anchor leg, following Chang, Ahn, and Henriquez.
The team will return to RPI next Friday and Saturday for the Liberty League Championship meet.
