DELHI, N.Y. - The Bard College men's track & field team competed at the Bronco Classic hosted by SUNY Delhi, with student-athletes setting numerous PRs, and sophomore
CJ Benincasa besting his own school record in the discus.
Â
Benincasa led the day off for the Raptors by throwing a 32.60m in the discus on his second attempt, his first time clearing 32 meters. Shortly afterwards, he also set a personal best in the shot put with a 10.18m.
Â
The runners had to battle a stiff headwind on the final straightaway, but sophomore
Bethuel Yebouet turned in a personal best 23.99 in the 200m, good for fifth place and continuing to move closer to a school record. His time in the 400m was also a PR, taking seven-tenths off his previous mark to finish fourth at 52.24.
Â
Bard also ran three athletes in the 800m, led by first year
Rowan Forsythe, who marked his return to the event after recovering from injury with an even-split 2:12.15.
Winston Cheney set a PR in the event, taking almost four seconds off his previous best by running a 2:18.74, and finishing a few seconds ahead of
Hongmin Ahn.

The team will be back in action next Saturday at Trinity College in Hartford.
