ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to William Smith College, 90-54, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The Herons (5-2, 2-0 Liberty League) led, 9-8, after about four minutes, but finished the first quarter on an 11-3 run to take a 20-11 lead after one quarter. William Smith scored nine of the first 10 points in the second quarter and expanded their lead to 40-21 at halftime.
For the game, the Herons shot 49 percent from the field and had 52 points in the paint and 21 assists. Freshman Lauren DeVaney (Geneva, NY) had 26 points and eight rebounds; sophomore Olivia Parisi added 23 points and 17 rebounds, and sophomore Stella Davis (Dublin, NH) finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Bard (4-4, 0-2) got 23 points, 10 rebounds and four assists from sophomore
Christina Kiser.
Olivia Couture added 12 points and three rebounds, and
Marissa Munsell contributed 11 points and three rebounds.
