LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to host Occidental College, 77-57, on Saturday, the last day of the Thanksgiving Classic.
It snapped a season-opening four-game winning streak for the Raptors, who at 4-1 have matched the second-best start in the history of the program. The 2007-08 team also was 4-1 through five games, and the 2012-13 squad started the year 5-0.
Occidental (3-2) started the game with a 12-4 run, and on the strength of four made three-pointers, led 21-12 after one quarter. The Tigers simply shot the ball better than Bard the rest of the way, leading 42-25 at halftime, and 62-38 after three quarters. For the game, Occidental shot 43 percent from the field to Bard's 29 percent, produced 18 assists and scored 44 of their 77 points in the paint.
Kulaea Tulua (Seaside, CA) led the winners with 13 points off the bench. Raveena Dhiman (San Jose, CA) added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Christina Kiser led all scorers with 25 points.
Jess Rylander added 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Marissa Munsell chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
