ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's squash team won its first match of the season on Saturday, part of a split on the first day of the Bard Round Robin.
The Raptors opened the event with a 9-0 sweep of Smith College, then later lost to Wellesley, 8-1.
Bard swept through Smith without losing a game. The match against Wellesley was closer than the final score indicated. The Raptors lost a 3-2 match at No. 6, and
Pam Jaramillo won the first game at No.1 before losing, 3-1.
Ophelia Wang accounted for Bard's one win at No. 9 with a 3-1 victory.
The Bard Round Robin continues on Sunday. Bard will play Rochester at 9 a.m. and Northeastern at noon.
