SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team lost to Union College, 20-6, in the Raptors' final game of the 2018 season on Friday.
Bard scored the first two goals of the game - they came from Caleigh DeCaprio and Nicole Ellin, respectively - but Union rallied and took the lead for good, 3-2, with 21 minutes left in the first half. It ended up being a seven-goal run, as the Dutchwomen led, 7-2, before Bard got on the board again when Dylan McDonald scored her 28th goal of the season midway through the first half.
McDonald scored again in the final minute before halftime, but Union led, 11-4, at the break.
The Dutchwomen outscored Bard, 9-2, in the second half, to improve to 2-11 overall, 2-7 in the Liberty League. Bard fell to 3-11, 0-10. Senior Cailin Pandolfi (Longmeadow, MA) led Union with five goals and one assist.
McDonald and Melissa Rosenthal scored two goals apiece for Bard. DeCaprio finished with a goal and an assist; Ellin scored once and Marion Adams contributed an assist. Rosenthal added four draw controls, while McDonald and Molly Woolery led the Raptors with three ground balls apiece. Kaylynn Tran made 10 saves.
