SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team was defeated by Union College, 3-0, in a Liberty League contest Tuesday evening.
The Dutchmen of Union (7-8 overall, 3-5 Liberty League) got on the board in the 18th minute, when Connor Horan (Norwell, MA) found the back of the net off a rebound in front of goal.
The score remained 1-0 at halftime, despite the Raptors (3-12-1, 0-8 LL) being held to just two shots during the opening 45 minutes.
Naka O'Connor produced both chances for Bard in the opening half, as he had one shot saved and the other fly just high.Â
In the second half, things quickly changed for Union, as the hosts were able to score twice during the first ten minutes. In the 51st minute, Horan knocked in his second goal of the game, before Kevin Fitzpatrick (Middletown, CT) slotted one in just two minutes later to push the advantage to 3-0.
On the night, Union outshot Bard, 20-3.
Logan Leppo finished with seven saves for Bard, while Trevor Krupp (Farmington, CT) collected a save and the win for the Dutchmen.
