POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team was defeated by Clarkson University, 69-46, Friday evening in a Liberty League contest.
The Raptors hung tough with the Golden Knights of Clarkson in the first quarter, grabbing the lead on two separate occasions early in the frame. Toward the end of the first though, Clarkson began to build a lead.
After 10 minutes the hosts led 18-11.
Clarkson continued its march into halftime, as it possessed a 35-17 lead at the break.
The Raptors didn't go down without a fight however. Bard responded with a 20 point third quarter, cutting the Clarkson lead to just 13 points late in the frame, down 50-37. That was as close as Bard would get the rest of the way.Â
Senior
Elena LeFevre scored a career-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting for Bard, while
Caleigh DeCaprio tallied 13 points in the effort.
For Clarkson, Madison Shea (Clifton Park, NY) recorded a game-high 21 points and Devin Sorell (Hannibal, NY) added 18 points in the win.Â
