Bard beaten at RPI

TROY, N.Y. -  The Bard College women's basketball team lost at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 55-27, Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League conference matchup.

The Engineers of RPI used a 15-2 first quarter scoring margin to jump in front, before the Raptors responded with four straight points to open the second quarter, cutting the deficit to just nine points.

However, that was as close as Bard would get the rest of the game.

Ines Ortea (Madrid, Spain) finished with a game-high 14 points for the Engineers. She was one of three RPI players to record double-digit point totals.

As for the Raptors, Sarah Morris finished with six points and five rebounds, while Elena LeFevre added six points and four steals. Erin Kennedy chipped in five points and five rebounds in the effort.

Up next for Bard is the first of three home games this week, as the Raptors host Union College on January 16th at 6 p.m. You can follow that game right here.
