KINGSTON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's lacrosse team lost to Skidmore College, 15-3, in its Liberty League opener on Saturday night.
The Thoroughbreds improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Liberty League; Bard fell to 4-4, 0-1.
Skidmore scored in the first minute, dominated possession throughout the first quarter, and put the Raptors on their heels. It was 5-0 midway through the first quarter, and 7-0 at the end of the first quarter after a man-down goal by Eric Megnia (West Barnstable, MA). The Thoroughbreds tacked on three more goals in the second quarter, and it was 11-0 at halftime.
Skidmore outshot Bard 29-10 in the first 30 minutes and went 10-for-10 on clears.

Sam Smith to make it 12-1. Rich and Smith each scored in the fourth quarter.
Five players scored two goals apiece for Skidmore; Conor Austin (Norwich, VT) and Will Lukas (Longmeadow, MA) finished with three points apiece. Chris Baughan made five saves to earn the win in goal.
Smith and Rich each finished with two points for Bard. Clayton Scott caused two turnovers and collected five ground balls;
Lyle Healey finished with 15 saves.
