Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Raptors downed by RPI, 66-39

TROY, N.Y. - Sunday afternoon's contest marked the season finale for the Bard College women's basketball team, as it concluded with a loss to Liberty League rival, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 66-39.

As a result, the Raptors finished the season, 0-25 overall and 0-16 in the Liberty League. RPI, meanwhile, ended the season 10-15 overall and 5-11 in the conference.

The Raptors opened the day playing well, as a pair of free throws from Sarah Morris with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter gave Bard an 11-3 lead.

However, from there, it was all RPI.

The Engineers proceeded to outscore Bard, 31-6 over the rest of the first half, to take a 34-17 lead into halftime.

The second half was more of the same for Bard, as the team was unable to get closer than 16 points the rest of the game.

Morris wrapped up her sophomore season with a well-rounded game, as she tallied 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals on the day.

Senior Annie Kissel finished her Bard career with 13 points to lead the visitors in the game, while fellow senior Andra Moye, recorded six points in her final outing.

The seniors leave the program after years of dedication and effort, and no doubt leave their mark on the team.

Bard College athletics wants to take this opportunity to thank the two for all they did to help the program over the years, and wishes them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.
