POULTNEY, Vt. - The Bard College men's soccer team scored seven goals in less than 30 minutes, all in the first half, and defeated Green Mountain College, 7-0, in a non-league game on Saturday afternoon.
A penalty kick goal by
Antonio Scanni in the fifth minute made it 1-0, and later the Raptors (3-0-1) scored three goals in about eight minutes to make it 4-0.
Jasper Shorter and
Claudio Mastrocinque scored, both on assists from
John Flynn, and
Nick Shenberger added one 24 seconds after Mastrocinque's. Flynn scored himself in the 19th minute, followed by
Mark Mannara - from
Jackson Barratt Heitmann - and
Francesco Mastrocinque, from Emyln Ellerby.
Taylor Bond played 19 minutes in goal for Bard and did not have to make a save.
Adel Elkafas played the rest of the game and made three saves in his collegiate debut.
Sawyer Levy (Bethel, VT) made nine saves for the Mountaineers (0-2).
