GENEVA, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team was defeated by William Smith College, 17-2, in a Liberty League game on Friday afternoon.
The Herons improved to 8-7 overall, 7-1 in the Liberty League. Bard is 4-11, 0-8.
William Smith scored three goals in the first four minutes of the game, then later in the middle of the first half, three more in less than a two-minute span, to go up 6-0. It was 12-0 at halftime.
Eleven players scored for William Smith, led by sophomore Ali Burns (Hingham, MA) and freshman Bizzer Gahagan (Glen Cove, NY), who scored three goals apiece. Melissa Moore (Dedham, MA) had seven draw controls and scored once.
The Raptors got single goals from
Casey Witte and
Nicole Ellin.
Kaylynn Tran made three saves.
