ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The William Smith College women's basketball team scored the first 15 points of the game and never looked back, cruising past Bard College, 61-39, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The Herons (9-11 overall, 7-5 Liberty League) led 18-2 after one quarter, 28-10 at halftime, and had a 30-18 rebounding advantage at the break. Bard (5-17, 0-13) was held to 3-for-31 shooting in the first half.
The lead got as big as 29 points in the second half, as 10 players scored for William Smith. Leading the way was Mia Morrison (Geneva, NY), who had 13 points and nine rebounds. Gabrielle Eure (East Syracuse, NY) added 11 points and five rebounds, and Kendra Quinn-Moultrie contributed 10 points and nine rebounds. The Herons outrebounded Bard 51-35 and scored more than half (38) of their points in the paint.
Bard got 17 points and 10 rebounds from
Tytravia Riley. She has 19 double-doubles in 22 games.
Andra Moye and
Sarah Morris added seven points apiece.
