POTSDAM, N.Y. – Clarkson University used heavy pressure and traps to build a big lead through three quarters, and cruised to a 73-46 victory in a Liberty League women's basketball game on Friday night.
The press forced nine Bard turnovers in each of the first three quarters. The Golden Knights (6-4, 1-2 Liberty League) led by 13 at halftime, and by 30 after three after outscoring Bard 30-13 in the third quarter. The Raptors finished with a season-high 30 turnovers, and Clarkson scored 29 points off those turnovers.
Devin Sorell (Hannibal, NY) led the hosts with 20 points including five three-pointers. She was one of four other Clarkson players in double digits as Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. Alyssia Marsal (Clifton Park, NY) and Madison Shea (Clifton Park, NY) added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Bianka Bell led the Raptors (5-7, 0-3 LL) with 17 points along with five steals, while
Tytravia Riley had 14 points and 14 rebounds in just 24 minutes.
