COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Bard College men's soccer team jumped out to an early lead, led 5-0 at the half, and cruised to a 6-0 win over SUNY Cobleskill in the non-league opener for both teams on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Brendan Byrne blasted what proved to be the game-winner from 25 yards out in the fifth minute, and later, the Raptors scored four goals over a 15-minute stretch to put the game away.
Nick Shenberger scored twice,
Antonio Scanni had a goal and an assist, and single goals came from
David Mamukelashvili and
Francesco Mastrocinque.
Marco Lorenz,
John Flynn and
Jackson Barratt Heitmann each had an assist, and
Daniel Gagne made one save.
The Raptors outshot the Fighting Tigers, 28-7.
Bard will play a pair of games over a three-day span this weekend. They'll travel to take on Southern Vermont on Friday afternoon, then host College of Mount St. Vincent on Sunday afternoon. Follow both game live right here.
