TROY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team followed up perhaps it's worst halves of the season with one of its best, but it wasn't enough to topple RPI.
The Raptors dropped their 2014-15 finale, 50-36.
Bard made just 11 percent of its shots in the first half, and it was 26-9 at the break. But a 21-10 run in the second half cut a lead that cut as big as 19 to eight with 5:22 left in the game. Bard cut it to eight again with four minutes left, but the Engineers pulled it out. Bard outscored the hosts, 27-24, in the second half.
Leading the second half surge was
Bianka Bell, who made 4-of-7 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes. She finished with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Tytravia Riley added 10 points and 15 rebounds, her 20th double-double of the season.
It was the last game in the careers of
Liz Freud and
Joanna Regan. Freud had one point, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two assists; Regan had three points, three rebounds and four assists.
The Raptors finish the season at 4-21 overall, 0-16 in the Liberty League. RPI is 14-11, 10-6.
