POTSDAM, N.Y. - After battling back from a poor start and a halftime deficit, the Bard College women's basketball team took the lead in Friday night's game against Clarkson University in the second half.
The lead went back and forth, and when
Tytravia Riley hit a three-pointer with 10:08 left in the game, Bard led, 40-38.
But the Golden Knights responded with an 18-4 run and defeated Bard, 66-53, in a Liberty League game.
Clarkson is 9-14 overall, 4-11 in the Liberty League. Bard is 1-23, 0-15.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well in the first half, and it took a 9-0 run in the final 3:43 for Bard to trim the halftime deficit to 25-23. Bard opened the second half on a 12-6 run to take a four-point lead with 15:11 to go.
Clarkson came back, and the game was tied for the final time at 42-42 with 8:28 left; Clarkson outscored Bard 24-11 from that point to win the game.
Clarkson got 19 points and eight rebounds from Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) and scored 19 points off of 25 Bard turnovers.
Tytravia Riley had 22 points and 14 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action, and
Bianka Bell added 13 points and nine rebounds.
