Bard falls to RIT, 61-39

Joanna Regan had eight points and nine rebounds in a loss to RIT on Friday night.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - After a poor-shooting first half, the Bard College women's basketball team trailed Rochester Institute of Technology, 26-16.

Five minutes into the second half, RIT was up by 16 and nobody could have blamed them if they started warming up the bus.

The Raptors responded with an 11-2 run and trailed, 37-30, with 11:06 left in the game. Then all of the air came out of the balloon.

RIT went on a 16-3 run over the following six minutes, and the game was over. The Tigers shot the ball much better in the second half (42%) than they did in the first half (31%), and Bard didn't get closer than 18 the rest of the way.

The Tigers (9-12, 5-7 Liberty League) got 12 points apiece from Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY) and Ashlynn Palmitesso (Fulton, NY). RIT next plays at Vassar tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Bard (7-16, 1-13) got eight points and nine rebounds from Joanna Regan. Freshman Tytravia Riley was held to seven points and eight rebounds and played just 21 minutes. Bard had 21 turnovers to RIT's nine, and the Raptors shot just 26 percent for the game.
