Bard defeated by St. Lawrence, 66-41

Freshman Bianka Bell led Bard with 15 points in Friday's loss to St. Lawrence University.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - An 8-0 run in the first half broke a tie, and a 12-0 run in the second half put the game away as the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team defeated Bard, 66-41, in a Liberty League game on Friday night.

It wasn't a pretty game, especially early on, and when Tytravia Riley made a layup with 9:38 left in the first half, the game was tied for the third time, this time at 12-12. But Bard went scoreless for five minutes, and St. Lawrence took advantage. By halftime it was 34-22.

Bard cut the 14-point halftime deficit to nine with 12:42 left in the game, then went cold again. This time it was eight minutes scoreless, and St. Lawrence's 12-0 run put the game away.

Hannah Wilson (Berne, NY) and Kelly Legg (Fairport, NY) led the Saints with 12 points apiece. St. Lawrence is 15-4 overall, 9-1 in the Liberty League. They play at Vassar on Saturday at 2.

Bard (7-14, 1-11) got 15 points from freshman Bianka Bell, and 14 points and 12 rebounds from Riley. Imani Jones added six points and 10 rebounds.
