Bard fades in second half, falls to Albany Pharmacy

Abbey Labrecque had seven points, eight rebounds and four assists against Albany Pharmacy on Thursday night.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - An 15-2 run that bridged the first and second halves proved to be too much to overcome for the Bard College women's basketball team, which lost to Albany College of Pharmacy, 53-41, in a non-league game on Thursday night.

The game was close throughout the first half, and Bard led, 19-16, with 3:58 to go until the break. Albany Pharmacy (8-1) outscored Bard 8-0 until halftime, then 7-2 to start the second half, and the Raptors didn't get closer than eight the rest of the way.

Senior Kelsey Johnson (Malone, NY) scored 11 of her 17 points in the second half to lead the Panthers to victory. Junior Taylor Sullivan (Troy, NY) added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Bard (0-7) got 17 points and nine rebounds from sophomore Tytravia Riley in 26 minutes. Abbey Labrecque added seven points, eight rebounds and four assists, and freshman Annie Kissel had four points, seven rebounds and six blocked shots.

Bard is off until Jan. 7, when it will host Morrisville State on Jan. 7.
