Riley: 19 points, 17 rebounds in loss to RIT

Tytravia Riley had 19 points, 17 rebounds and three steals in a loss to RIT on Saturday afternoon.
Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Before Saturday's game against Bard, the RIT women's basketball team hadn't made more than six three-pointers in a game this season.

At the midway point of the first half on Saturday, the Tigers were 5-for-10 from behind the arc, and 4-for-10 from inside of it. RIT went on to make nine three-pointers in a 75-50 Liberty League victory over Bard.

It was 20-6 midway through the first half before Bard made a push. When freshman Bianka Bell hit a pair of free throws with 5:29 left until halftime, RIT's lead had been trimmed to 23-17. But the Tigers went on a tear after that point, scoring 17 of the last 19 points in the half and taking a 40-19 lead into the break.

Bard never got closer. Twenty-four turnovers killed the Raptors - 14 in the first half - and RIT ended up taking 19 more shots. Twelve different players scored for the winners, led by senior Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY), who had 11 points.

Bard freshman Tytravia Riley, who entered the game as the national Div. III leader in rebounds per game (15.9), had 19 points, 17 rebounds and three steals. Bell added 11 points, and senior Imani Jones chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.
