Big second half pushes New Paltz past Bard

Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - After a scoreless first half, SUNY New Paltz scored four goals to defeat Bard, 4-0, in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

In the 50th minute, a shot by sophomore defender Brian Spina (Delmar, NY) was stopped by Bard freshman keeper Gabe Rudd, but the rebound deflected off a Bard defender's hand. Spina scored on the ensuing penalty kick, and it was 1-0.

A goal by sophomore Stephen Browne (Carle Place, NY) made it 2-0 about 10 minutes later, and the Hawks (5-3-1) added two goals in the final two minutes of the match to account for the final score.

Rudd made seven saves for the Raptors, who hit the road for a couple of Liberty League games up North this weekend. Bard will play at Clarkson on Friday at 4, and at St. Lawrence on Saturday at 2.
