Bard loses second straight as Sage rallies late

Freshman Tytravia Riley had 17 points and 18 rebounds, but Bard lost to Sage on Friday night.
Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team lost its second straight game on Friday night, as Sage rallied to top the Raptors, 47-41.

Bard led, 35-32, with 8:15 left in the game, but went almost six minutes without scoring, which allowed Sage to regain the lead. Sage's lead got as big as five before Bard came back, cutting the deficit to 42-41 with 41 seconds left in the game on a layup by Tytravia Riley.

On Sage's next possession, junior Chelsea Martin (Davenport, NY) made a layup making it 44-41, and Bard missed it's next two shots in the final 13 seconds. The Gators made three foul shots in the waning moments as Bard was forced to foul and the Raptors fell to 5-2.

Sage (4-5) got 15 points and five rebounds from sophomore Megan Bowman (Saranac, NY). The Gators, who have won four in a row, held Bard to 29 percent shooting from the floor and forced 24 turnovers.

Riley finished with 17 points, 18 rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot. Liz Freud and Victoria Fleisher added nine points apiece, and Imani Jones grabbed 11 rebounds. Joanna Regan led Bard with five assists.

Bard plays another non-league road game on Sunday, at Pine Manor College at 2 p.m.
