Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. - A 20-6 run over a six-minute stretch that bridged the middle of the second half broke open a close game and led the Albany College of Pharmacy to a 65-49 victory over Bard in a non-league game on Tuesday night - Bard's first loss of the season after a school-record 5-0 start.
Box score
In a losing effort, Bard freshman
Tytravia Riley finished with 26 points and a whopping 30 rebounds, breaking the Bard record for rebounds in a game. The previous record of 23 was held by Heidi Hallenback, who did it in a game in 2006. The NCAA Div. III record is 38; Riley entered the game seventh in the country in rebounds per game, although her 14.4 average will obviously climb after this performance.
Bard (5-1) dominated on the boards but struggled shooting. The 57-40 edge in rebounds created an 80-52 edge in field goal attempts - but Bard only made 28 percent of its shots, while the Panthers (6-1) made 44 percent of theirs.
An 18-9 to end the half gave Albany Pharmacy a 31-25 edge at the break. It was nip and tuck for the first part of the second half, and with 11:46 left in the game, Bard trailed, 38-35.
Over the next six minutes, the Panthers outscored Bard 20-6 and the game was effectively over. Albany Pharmacy had four players in double figures, led by junior Alexa Schooley (Auburn, N.Y.), who finished with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Nobody else got into double-figure scoring for Bard; senior
Imani Jones finished with seven points. The Raptors next play on Friday night at Sage.
