The Raptors (2-10-2) had the best early chance when
Christian Letourneau's direct kick from 35 yards hit the crossbar in the fifth minute. But scoring chances after that dwindled, really for both teams.
Staten Island (8-7) had one excellent chance to score and made the most of it. A hard, low cross was struck by senior Lirim Begai (Staten Island, NY) from the right wing, and Bard freshman keeper
Gabe Rudd got most of it, but not all of it, and it trickled behind him. Junior Nedgy Nazon (Brooklyn, NY) was right there on the doorstep and poked it in from three yards out in the 22nd minute.
The Raptors tried just about everything to generate some offense and pushed forward in the second half, but they never really tested CSI keeper Ahmed El-Ghareib, who made four saves. Bard was outshot 17-10 on the game, and CSI produced 10 corners to Bard's three.
Gabe Rudd made five saves for Bard, which next hosts RIT on Friday at 4 in a Liberty League game. You can follow that game here via Live Stats.
