ALBANY, N.Y. - The Bard College women's basketball team didn't have a terrible shooting night by its own standards, shooting 30 percent from the field against Sage on Wednesday, right on their average for the season.

Sage, however, shot the ball better.

The Gators made 51.8 percent of their shots from the field and 50 percent from beyond the three-point line (8-for-16) in a 69-37 Skyline Conference victory.

Sage (10-12 overall, 9-8 Skyline) made 18-of-27 shots in the first half (66 percent) and ran out to a 43-17 lead. It didn't get any closer in the second half.

Bard (4-19, 1-15 Skyline) got 17 points and eight rebounds from senior Latiqua Williams (Bay Shore, NY), but nobody else had more than six points. Fellow senior Marissa Papatola (St. Paul, MN) grabbed seven rebounds and hit a three-pointer.

Sage was led by sophomores Kara Hackett (Peru, NY) and Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, NY), who had 18 and 14 points, respectively.

Bard next plays on Saturday at home against SUNY Old Westbury at 2. It's Senior Day, and it's also "Pink Zone" day, as Bard helps to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
