ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - A game that was tight with about 11 minutes to go turned into a rout on Thursday night, as the Bard College women's basketball team saw it's winning streak end at two with a 69-48 loss to SUNY Purchase.
There were nine lead changes and six ties by the time the game was tied at 36-36 with just over 11 minutes left in the game, but Purchase went on a 27-4 run and ran away with the victory.
The Panthers, 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference, shot 55 percent from the field in the second half.
Bard, 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the Skyline, was even in rebounds and turnovers but shot just 27 percent from the field for the game.
The Raptors were led by senior
Latiqua Williams, who had 17 points and 18 rebounds. Sophomore
Imani Jones (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in with four points and seven rebounds.
Bard next plays on Dec. 8 at Mount Saint Mary College in a Skyline Conference contest.
