Bard women win second straight

Imani Jones had six points and six steals against the College of New Rochelle.
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - On a poor-shooting night, Bard's defense stepped to the forefront and the Raptors won their second straight game, 44-25, over the College of New Rochelle on Tuesday night.

Bard, 2-3 overall, struggled to find its shooting touch all night long, but forced 40 turnovers with pressure defense and won the game going away in spite of shooting 28 percent from the field.

Senior Latiqua Williams (Bay Shore, NY) led the way with 11 points, 21 rebounds and five steals, while playing just 21 minutes. Freshman Amy Strawbridge (Indianapolis, IN) and sophomore Imani Jones (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in with six points apiece. Jones added six steals.

Bard will next host SUNY Purchase in a Skyline Conference game on Thursday at 6 p.m. The men vs. SUNY Purchase will follow at 8.
