ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. –
The Bard College men's soccer team continued its strong start to the season with a 3-0 victory over Old Westbury on Wednesday evening at Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex.

The Raptors improved to 4-0 on the season behind goals from Devon Green, Emmett Olson and Henry Skeltis, while goalkeeper Jake Sudit and the Bard defense kept Old Westbury off the scoreboard. The Raptors' fourth consecutive shutout at the start of the season is the first time in Bard history since stats were recorded in 1991. Also, Bard's fourth consecutive shutout is the first time since the 2004 season. Bard controlled much of the attack, finishing with a 26-12 advantage in shots, including 15 shots on goal, while earning 11 corner kicks.

Bard wasted little time getting on the board. In the ninth minute, Aren Andrews set up Green for the opening goal at the 8:34 mark, giving the Raptors an early 1-0 advantage. Andrews passed by two Panther defenders and crossed it in the middle of the box and Green jumped and tapped it with his right foot. Bard continued to create opportunities throughout the first half, forcing three saves and earning four corner kicks before taking the one-goal lead into halftime.

The Raptors turned up the pressure after the break, recording 17 shots in the second half. An error by the Panthers' goalkeeper that went straight to Olson, allowed Olson to send a rocket of a goal over the goalkeeper's head to make it 2-0.

Just 10 minutes later, Bard added its third. Marios Savva had his initial shot saved, but Skeltis was there to finish the opportunity at 66:06 for his third goal of the season and his fourth consecutive time being involved in a goal or assist.

Bard continued to threaten over the final 20 minutes, forcing several more saves, while Sudit and the defense closed the door at the other end. Sudit played all 90 minutes in goal to earn the shutout, with the Raptors' defense keeping Old Westbury scoreless despite 12 total shots.

Offensively, Frankie Perera-Modica led Bard with seven shots and five on goal, while Savva added five shots. Skeltis finished with four shots and two on goal, while Green and Olson each converted one of their opportunities.

The Raptors will look to carry their unbeaten streak as they face UMSV on Saturday at 2 p.m. to finish their four game homestead.
