Bard College Athletics

Tim Petty is in his first full season after joining the team during the spring track & field season in 2025. He holds a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification and brings a versatile athletic background to the program. 

Petty comes to Bard from Potsdam, where he excelled as a decathlete, setting nine records. He served as a three-year Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative. Petty was a two-time AARTFC Regional Championship Qualifier and a three-time CSC Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-District Team member. He was voted Potsdam’s Newcomer of the Year and Portrait of a Potsdam Athlete during his collegiate career. In addition to his Track & Field experience, he was a member of the soccer team for two years.
