Cipriano is in her third season after being hired in July 2023.
In her second year, Cipriano promoted the NEVC Rookie of the Year and All-NEVC First Team member, Ansel Waisler, the Liberty League Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, Azriel Almodovar, and All-Liberty League First Team members Lazaros Panagiotounis and Artemy Mukhin.
In her first year, Cipriano helped increase the fans and engagement of the Bard Athletics social media platforms (X, IG, FB) while also helping re-design the bardathletics website. She has implemented pre-season interviews, post-game interviews, photography after each home event, and video highlights. In November, Cipriano was named College Sports Communicators' (CSC) 30 Under 30, recognizing emerging athletic communication professionals at all levels of college sports in strategic, creative, and digital spaces.
Cipriano comes to Bard from Shippensburg University, where she fulfilled numerous roles within the sports information department and was the primary contact for several sports, assisted with major events and championships, and oversaw social media content and strategy for 20 intercollegiate athletic teams.
At Shippensburg, Cipriano functioned as the primary contact for field hockey, women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s tennis and softball, while remaining a secondary contact for the remaining Raider sports. Her work also included event management, statistics, hiring and training of student workers, and oversight of social media. She also served several months as Shippensburg University’s primary photographer, documenting important campus events (alumni weekend, orientation, move-in, and Homecoming) and taking faculty and staff headshots.
Some highlights of her time at Shippensburg included being the primary contact for the 2021 field hockey team that went undefeated and won its sixth national championship in school history and also the 2022 team that finished as national runners-up. She also worked with the softball team that won the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship and went onto the 2023 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Softball Championships.
Cipriano promoted and publicized two national athletes of the year: 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Player of the Year Jazmin Petrantonio and 2022 Ron Lenz Division II Softball Player of the Year Hannah Marsteller. Petrantonio was also named the Division II Honda Athlete of the Year by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA), becoming just the fourth player in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) history to receive the honor. Cipriano attended the nationally-televised ceremony in Los Angeles and led the publicity efforts for the award with photography and behind-the-scenes coverage on SU’s social media platforms.
As the lead supervisor of work-study students, Cipriano has recruited and trained a diverse group of student workers, which significantly enhanced the productivity and efficiency of Shippensburg’s operations. Her management included organizing weekly work schedules, and her tutelage included educating the employees in new skills that are essential to the office’s success.
In September 2022, Cipriano was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program Class of 2022-23. The year before, she was selected as one of six recipients of a 2022 NCAA Inclusion College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Convention grant.
Cipriano was a student-athlete at Emmanuel University but also worked as a sports information student assistant, where she handled all aspects of athletic communications for the Lions under the direction of Kethan Darbar.
In the Spring of 2021, Cipriano was the primary point of contact for gameday operations as Emmanuel conducted all 35 of its sports over the span of one semester. Cipriano’s primary duties included serving as the lead statistician at athletic events and orchestrating live video streaming and photography.
Her versatility in handling all aspects of Emmanuel’s athletic communications included maintenance of the athletics website, writing game recaps, and handling social media duties. She also served as a sport contact for several teams, networking with colleagues throughout Conference Carolinas.
As a collegian, Cipriano was a scholarship tennis athlete for the Lions from 2015-19. Cipriano was an All-Conference Carolinas Second Team performer and a three-time International Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honoree. She was an integral member of an Emmanuel team that won the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championship, culminating a five-year run for the Lions that began with a winless record in 2014-15.
A native of Taunton, England, Cipriano earned three undergraduate degrees from Emmanuel University: a bachelor of science in pre-law in 2019 and a bachelor of science in criminal justice and history in 2021. She graduated with her master’s in Strategic Communication from Shippensburg in 2023.
