Malik Walfall is in his second year as the Assistant Athletic Director after being hired on November 1st, 2024.
Walfall oversees scheduling, calendaring, and game contracts along with event staff schedules and training. He liaises with officials and helps oversee travel logistics and coordination. He also helps coordinate intramurals, SAAC, student-athlete orientation and programming, and compliance.
Walfall comes to Bard from IMG Academy in Florida, where he worked as their Basketball Operations Facilities Coordinator. He served as the main maintenance lead for all IMG Basketball facilities, overseeing their upkeep and functionality. He also helped coordinate with external partners regarding logistical requirements, assessment, and risk management.
He also worked as a summer camp counselor for IMG Academy before being promoted to Basketball Operations Facilities Coordinator. He worked with campers ages 8-12, monitoring the day-to-day activities and implementing policies and procedures.
Prior to his time at IMG Academy, Walfall worked as an athletic assistant for Brooklyn Friends School for four years. He was responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising athletic events, as well as leading various special projects, such as the remodeling of the gym. Walfall also oversaw the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities and worked with compliance.
Walfall graduated from McDaniel College with a bachelor's degree in communication.
