Bard College Athletics

Susie Brown enters her second year on the staff at Bard.  Brown has significant tennis experience with 35 years of competitive playing experience, as well as being a USPTA certified tennis professional. Currently nationally ranked in both singles and doubles (in her age division), Coach Brown has traveled the globe competing nationally and internationally. In 2005, the World Championships took her to Western Australia, then to Poland and Lithuania. This past summer, Brown won the 2009 Ulster County Doubles and Singles Championship and finished third at the USTA National Grass Court Championships women’s 45’s.

As an experienced instructor and player with expertise in stroke production, strategy, conditioning, and mental toughness, she brings her knowledge and coaching strategies to Bard tennis. Brown resides and coaches in South Florida and is spending her first spring, summer and fall in the Hudson Valley, co-directing the Bard Tennis Camps, teaching private lessons and clinics at the college, and enjoying hiking and biking in the Hudson Valley.
