Mary Kate Scardillo

Mary Kate Scardillo came to Bard in July of 2014.

Scardillo came to Bard from Castleton State College, where she was the Head Women's Lacrosse and Volleyball coach from 2011-2013. She led the women's lacrosse program to a pair of North Atlantic Conference Championships and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2012 and 2013. In the two previous years, Scardillo was a graduate assistant women's lacrosse coach at Castleton as the Spartans made consecutive appearances in the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) Championship.

A native of Slingerlands, N.Y., Scardillo attended Academy of the Holy Names in Albany, where she was a three-sport student-athlete. She was an Albany Times-Union All-Star in lacrosse, volleyball and basketball, before heading to Rochester to attend Nazareth College.

She was captain of the women's lacrosse team at Nazareth for three of her four years there and was part of two NCAA Tournament appearances for the Golden Flyers (2006, 2007) as a defender. She was an Empire 8 Honorable Mention selection after her senior season. After completing her B.A. in Psychology, she took a graduate assistant coaching position at Castleton while she pursued a Masters Degree in Education. Upon completion of her Masters, Scardillo took on the head lacrosse/volleyball position full-time for the Spartans.

In addition to having success with the lacrosse program at Castleton, Scardillo turned the volleyball program around over the course of three seasons, going from 1-19 in her first year to third place in the North Atlantic Conference in 2013.

Scardillo is also an Assistant Athletic Director at Bard, handling oversight of Club Sports.
