VAILS GATE, N.Y. - The Bard College Track and Field's throwers headed to Cornwall Central High School for the MSMC Knights Invitational. The competitors of the day were shot put school record holder Eanna Hauck, new addition McKenna Reeves, and veteran Lismery Guzman-Cruz. 

Hauck has set a new school record at every meet so far, and in this case, she improves on the mark by 0.7 meters. Her first throw went out to 10.25m, but she was surpassed in the second round by an athlete throwing 10.74m. In response, Hauck launched the 4-kilogram weight out to 11.10m. This third throw was the longest of the day, and went unmatched by any other at the event. This is her first collegiate win, following a few podium finishes at The Big Hurt and the Utica Spring Invite. 

Reeves and Guzman-Cruz also had stellar performances, both competing in shot put and discus. Reeves found her personal best 8.64m on her third and final throw, good for seventh against the field. Guzman-Cruz went for 6.92m on her second throw, a strong effort that puts her at ninth. Reeves' volleys from the day put her at second in program history; Guzman-Cruz is already third. 

In the discus, Reeves and Guzman-Cruz both set personal bests in parallel manners. After fouling the second throw, both went for their best mark of the day on the third throw. Reeves went out to 17.43m, and Guzman-Cruz to 18.20m, both were personal bests. These throws also make them the third and second in program history, respectively. 

Successful day for the throwing team, who were nevertheless missed at Ewing, New Jersey, where the rest of the team was competing in the TCNJ Invite. Bard returns next weekend, April 18th, at the University of Albany Invitational in Albany.
