The Bard College cross country team raced at the Vassar Season Opener on Friday night to start their season, with the men's team finishing above Sarah Lawrence.
The Raptors debuted five runners at the meet:
Alex Laskowski,
Malena Verduga Martinez,
Kai Roper,
Johnny Henriquez, and
Ian Zhao. It was
Chloe Desautels's first collegiate 3K meet. Sophomore
Emma St. Peter led the women's team with a time of 13:45.9, followed by Laskowski, who was just four places behind.
On the men's side, senior
Bo Hopwood led the team with a personal best of 14:23.5, bettering his 15:33.4 best from the 2023 season.
Madeline Clark,
Elijah Flynn,
Ilyas Hotak, and
Charlie Grenadier also recorded personal best times.
Bard will be back in action on September 13th for the Ron Stonitsch Invitational at 11:30 a.m.
