ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College Director of Athletics & Recreation,
Stefanie Carrington, has named Macgregor Spencer as the Bard College Strength & Conditioning Coordinator on Monday. Spencer comes from New England College and will join the Department starting September 1st.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Bard College Athletics as the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and I'm eager to work with coaches & athletes to find ways to promote overall wellness, improve performance, and achieve success on & off the field of play," said Spencer. "I'm honored to join the collaborative team at Bard College where students are able to pursue creative achievements across all academic disciplines and athletics. "We have been fortunate to hire Macgregor Spencer into the role because he brings a real wealth of knowledge that will benefit our student athletes right away."
Spencer is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and holds an Adult CPR/AED certification.
Spencer joins Bard after earning his Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports and Recreation Management from New England College. While there, he assisted the Head Strength Coach in coordinating Strength and Conditioning programs for all 21 Division III varsity sports. He also led Olympic lifts and agility training for Men's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, Softball, Field Hockey and Women's Basketball. Spencer conducted and analyzed body composition testing, sprint/speed testing, exit velocity (throwing and hitting) and strength progression.
Prior to his time at New England College, Spencer was a Strength and Conditioning Coaching Intern for the University of Virginia's football program, where he assisted with the daily operations of the football S&C coaching staff. He was responsible for setting up and breaking down weight and training equipment. Spencer also distributed Catapult speed-tracking vests, downloaded data, and utilized Perch speed-tracking software.
A graduate of Creighton University, Spencer earned his bachelor's in Exercise Science in 2022. In the summer of 2021, he worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coaching Intern at Yale University, where he assisted in all aspects of Olympic training, took inventory, and managed nutritional supplies & supplements.
Additionally, Spencer was a Summer Football Showcase Camps Volunteer for Boston College in 2024.
