ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— Six members of the Bard College women's lacrosse team were honored as the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Honor Roll. This classification goes to junior, senior and graduate women's lacrosse players who finished 2024-25 with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The five students honored were juniors
Gwyn Downey and
Lily Seale, and seniors
Maya Junkins,
Maggy Peyton,
Izzi Popolizio and
Morgan Ruhle.
Junior
Gwyn Downey is studying literature and middle eastern studies. Downey started 14 games. She recorded one assist against Skidmore. Downey picked up 11 ground balls, caused five turnovers, and had one draw control. In addition, she recorded multiple ground balls in four games. She is also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Honoree.
Junior
Lily Seale is studying economics. Seale played 14 games and started in 10 games as one of the Raptors' defender. She added eight ground balls and one caused turnover. She is a two-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
Senior
Maya Junkins was studying art history and visual culture. Junkins played in 15 games and started in 14 games as one of the Raptors' primary attackers. She ranked third on the team in draw controls (21) and assists (6), while adding five goals, seven ground balls, and two caused turnovers. She is also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Honoree, a CSC Academic All-District and a two-time IWLCA Honor Roll honoree.
Senior
Maggy Peyton was studying sociology and studio arts. Peyton played 11 games and started all 11 games as one of the Raptors' attacker/midfielder. She ranked fourth in goals (10) and assists (4). Peyton grabbed a career-high 16 ground balls in a season, and added eight caused turnover and 22 draw controls. Peyton ranks fifth in school history for career draw controls with 98. She is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic Honoree and now a two-time IWLCA Honor Roll.
Senior
Izzi Popolizio was studying environmental and urban studies. Popolizio started in 15 games for the Raptors as a primary offensive option. She led the team in assists with 15 and was second in points with 33. Popolizio added 29 groundballs, six draw controls and 13 caused turnovers. This season, she set the new school record for assists in a career, with 65. Popolizio ranks third in program history in career points, with 134. She is also a three-time Liberty League All-Academic Honoree, a two-time CSC All-District At-Large and now a two-time IWLCA Honor Roll honoree.
Lastly, senior
Morgan Ruhle was studying mathematics and psychology. Ruhle started 15 games for the Raptors as a defender. She was the Liberty League leader in ground balls per game with 3.87 and led the conference in caused turnovers per game, with 2.00. Her 146 career ground balls and 68 career caused turnovers both rank third in program history. She is also a three-time Liberty League All-Academic Honoree, a CSC Academic All-District and now a two-time IWLCA Honor Roll honoree.
