Lexie Blackburn collects 11 saves in back-to-back games

The Bard College women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference bout with the Maritime Privateers on Tuesday evening.

Emerson Embrey scored two goals, dished out an assist, and had four draw controls to lead the Raptors. She has had 3+ points in each of her games this season. Kayla Francis scored a goal and had one caused turnover. Gwendolyn Jamison had a team-high four shots on goal, but couldn't break through.

Morgan Ruhle led the team in ground balls and caused turnovers, tying her season-highs set on Saturday of seven and four, respectively. Maya Junkins had three draw controls, while Maggy Peyton had a ground ball and two draw controls on the night. Lexie Blackburn started in goal, recording 11 saves. Keira Redmond played 21:30 in goal, tallying four saves. The Raptors made 16 saves to the Privateers' eight.

Embrey had Bard's first goal at the 9:40 mark in the first period, driving and scoring unassisted. Maritime ended the first period up five after four goals in response. The Privateers scored six goals to start the second period, two of them being free position shots. Embrey answered with the Raptors' second goal with 3:10 to go until halftime. Out of the break, Bard had three shots on goal but couldn't convert, leading to Maritime extending its lead. Six minutes into the fourth period, Francis broke the Raptors' drought with her second goal of her career. Victoria Rowe came into the game in the fourth period to close out the game in goal.

After a three-game road trip, the Raptors have a game against Skidmore at home on Saturday at noon before heading to South Carolina for their spring break trip.
