Kottka hit a three-pointer out of the gate, but was quickly answered by an 11-0 RIT run. Kottka made another first-quarter three to stop the bleeding at the 4:06 mark. However, the Tigers scored 10 of the next 13 points to take a 21-9 lead at the end of one. After a quick score by RIT 25 seconds into the second quarter, Bard had a 10-2 run bookended by Martin's two long-distance snipes. That surge made it 25-19 in favor of the Tigers, who would extend the margin to 16 over the next five-plus minutes. RIT was able to keep the Raptors off the offensive glass, winning the second chance points battle 11-0 in the first half.
In the third quarter, the Raptors defense got stronger, limiting the Tigers to 5-of-17 shooting (29.4%). Two minutes into the second half, Bard scored on back-to-back possessions to get within 11 at 40-29, but that was as close as it got. The Raptors were able to capitalize on RIT's turnovers, outscoring the Tigers 4-0 on points off turnovers in the quarter. The fourth quarter went in favor of RIT, 10-7, but the Raptors were able to take away the three-point shot from the Tigers, who went 0-of-3 in the final frame. From three, Bard kept pace, shooting 7-of-25 (28%) to RIT's 8-of-28 (28.6%), but the Tigers held a 39.3% to 28.6% edge from the field.
The Raptors will finish their 2025 homestand on Saturday at 2 p.m., when they host RPI.
