The Bard College swimming team had determined efforts at the Gryphons Quad Meet, hosted by Sarah Lawrence on Saturday, showing progress and energy across multiple events against a competitive field that included the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, SUNY Maritime, and Sarah Lawrence.

For the women, Maya Remick led the way with a strong performance in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 30.82 seconds. Remick placed eighth in the 100-yard freestyle with a 1:09.33 time. Yolanda Liu posted a 2:39.94 in the 200-yard individual medley and then placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. 

On the men's side, Benett Hathaway clocked 26.80 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and then finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:04.18. Reece Sherf added solid points in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.30 and then in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:18.59. The pair were key contributors for Bard as the team continues to build momentum heading into Liberty League competition.

Bard will host their home opener against Potsdam on Saturday at 1 p.m.
